Hi, there. I’m Jenn and with the help of excessive amounts of coffee, and little sleep, I write Action & Adventure Thrillers, Romantic Suspense, and Contemporary Romance novels with my partner in crime, Dexter the Corgi (that’s him below). Here’s a little more about us.
I published my first novel, The Last Bloom in 2021 with Boroughs Publishing Group followed by True Beginnings (True McLaren Series- Book One) under the Cheeky Amour Publishing House imprint in March 2022. True Enlightenment (True McLaren Series- Book 2) released in December 2022, also under the Cheeky Amour Publishing House imprint. Next was a steamy standalone Southern Contemporary Romance set in Savannah, Georgia called Not On Your Latte in May of 2023. You can find all of my books on Amazon and most are available in Kindle Unlimited, with Not On Your Latte currently available on Audible.
The True McLaren series has been in the works for some time. I originally released the first novel under B&N Press before it was ready. The final version, which slightly resembles the first, was a labor of love and severe editing based on knowledge gained from publishing The Last Bloom. There are five books planned in the series. The next book, True Love, Lore, & Lessons In Loss (True McLaren Series- Book 3) will be coming in 2026.
Fun Fact…my daughter is the inspiration for parts of True’s badassery (yes, that is a word). She is my “on paper” martial arts reviewer/choreographer who also provides many of the technical martial arts terms you’ll see used sporadically throughout the series.
Currently I am finishing my newest standalone romantic comedy called Love & Other Expletives which you can find on my Waitlist. Becca Vance is America’s Rom-Com film sweetheart, but she has her share of secrets. While her life is very much in the public eye, she is usually found with action film star Donovan ‘Van’ Taylor, a man known for his charm, humor and kindness.
Ryan Carter is someone Becca has known for several years, having directed the last three films starring Becca. The two of them are rom-com dynamite and are already slated to complete two more films together with plans for more. When Ryan asks Becca to travel with him and his documentary crew as co-director for six weeks across the country, Becca changes every plan she has, including the trip to Spain with Van who is filming his newest action film over the summer on location.
Even though the topic is “Love,” which makes her uncomfortable, she proposes a way to tone that down to both sides of the coin. Born to play devil’s advocate, especially if it involves the whole ‘love at first sight’ thing, Becca offers to bring a different perspective to balance her co-director’s original concept. After all, Ryan Carter’s sunshine and rainbows view of the most talked about emotion directly opposes Becca’s scientific approach that it’s all chemical. As long as everyone realizes her role is to produce a balanced film, and what happens on the set stays on the set, everything should go well. So long as Becca can keep the fact that she doesn’t believe in love all to herself, this will be a career changing experience she can build on.
Of course, we know there will be complications. It’s all about the planning right? No group traveling in such close proximity on buses for most of the eight weeks can avoid become knowledgeable of the quirks and unusual habits of those around them. With Van overseas and Becca spending a lot of time with Ryan (were his eyes always this color?) Carter, there’s a lot that being noticed for the first time all the way around.
True McLaren #haveteaspoon?
True Saoirse McLaren. There are so many things that make True unique from many of the powerful females represented in action thrillers. She speaks eleven languages (and counting), is expertly trained in five martial arts, and is an admitted addict of coffee, chocolate, and Sting (in no particular order). She’s human, so of course she has weaknesses (Dante, camo, men speaking Italian, to name a few), but she is also soft in the middle of her badass exterior. It takes a while to get to that marshmallow interior though. At 5’3″, she’s a tiny but lean, muscled powerhouse who can hold her own. All that curly, red hair comes with a fiery temper, so watch out if her eyes go from ocean blue to hurricane sky. If you see that change, it may be best to run.
Dante Parisi #Conciliatore
Dante Sandro Parisi. When creating a male counterpart for True, it was important that he have compassion and understanding. Because of her upbringing, my heroine can be quick to jump into action, making the waiting game a tremendous challenge. This is one of her qualities (there are many) that made it necessary for my hero to have an unlimited well of patience.
Of course, Dante also needs to show he can hold his own. As a former Marine Force Reconnaissance, Special Ops soldier, our main man is as deadly as he is adorable. With dark wavy hair, brown eyes, and a dimple to die for, at around six feet, this tall drink of water is surprisingly awkward with the ladies (his mom will lovingly joke about this). This same awkwardness pairs nicely with True’s past lack of experience in an actual relationship. The chemistry is undeniable and fated, though not without its bumps, of course.
